I thought we had already been down the "tattoo lane" and we were very clear on the basic principles. OK, maybe that's not making as much sense as I originally intended, so I feel compelled to retrace my steps and give you all a little insight into the wonders and dangers of being a relatively famous (or even a very famous) actress and allowing the world a glimpse - or an eye-full, depending on the circumstance - of the messages inked on your body. I'm talking female celebrities and tattoos, and if your mind jumped straight to Angelina Jolie, let me tell you it's quite understandable. Only this time, we're not talking about the infamous Miss Jolie, but about another hottie - "Transformers" star Megan Fox.
Well, Megan sure has a lot of tattoos - at least six on the last count. Personally, I see nothing wrong with that, seeing how it's a matter of (her own) personal choice, her body and her attitude to life. The display of body art inked on Megan's body includes a Marilyn Monroe portrait, a tribal symbol of waves on her left wrist, a star and crescent moon (on her right leg), and three whole sentences: "There once was a little girl who never knew love until a boy broke her HEART" (left side of her torso), the single name "Brian" and a Shakespeare quote - "We will all laugh at gilded butterflies".
My beef - if you'll excuse my ghetto slang - is with the last tattoo I mentioned, and which is "engraved" in a pretty visible way on her right shoulder blade, as you can very well see in this photo. Well, I'm sorry to say this, but as much as I like Megan, her revealing dress doesn't spell sexy - like, at all! I think that someone should tell all Hollywood stars that it's really not cool to flash their body art, since nothing ruins a cool, classy or trendy evening dress like a piece of body art left exposed somewhere on the lady's body. It's just not hot. Not the tattoo itself - but I have yet to see the designer dress that matches words etched into someone's skin in blue ink. It's just a no-show.
I'm sorry for Megan - because on the whole I think she's a cool actress and a nice backstage presence - but all she's making me think about is Amy Winehouse and her colorful and not very inspired array of tattoos - which no one in this whole wide world will make me see as hot. So, Megan, a little more care in the off-the-shoulder department during public evening outings and we'll be friends again. How about it?
