What happens in Sin City, always stays in Sin City

Eli Roth’s “Hostel” (2005) broke the mold for horror torture movies, but the franchise has lost some of its luster throughout years. “Hostel: Part III” comes out straight on DVD in December, and fans of the genre can have a first look at the trailer for it.

The concept of the “Hostel” franchise was as smart as it was evil: rich people paying a lot of money for private “shows” of people getting tortured, punished or killed.

That’s about the only thing that “Part III” still shares with the first film in the series, especially since Eli Roth is not involved in it in any capacity.

The threequel, which will see a straight-to-DVD release (which on itself should hint to its poorer quality), is now set in Las Vegas, where four men in town for a bachelor party are lured over to the Elite Hunting Club, where they’re in for the shock of their lives.

“Once there, they are horrified to find themselves the subjects of a perverse game of torture, where members of the Elite Hunting Club are hosting the most sadistic show in town,” the official synopsis of the film says.

“Hostel: Part III” comes out on December 27, just in time to get you out of the feel-good mood of the winter holidays. *Please note that some discretion is recommended when viewing the trailer.
