14 DAY TRIAL // Nokia, the giant Finnish telecommunications company, has just announced that it will soon bring one of the most popular video games of the last decade – Resident Evil Degeneration, produced by the Japan-based Capcom – to its N-Gage platform.
Based on the upcoming GC animation film that should be released on October 18 in Japan, under the same name, Resident Evil Degeneration for N-Gage brings Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy into the spotlight, as they try to destroy a deadly virus released in a US airport by a mysterious terrorist.
Talking about the collaboration with Capcom, Gregg Sauter, director of Third Party Publishing at Nokia, stated, "We're thrilled to bring another major franchise to our N-Gage platform. For many years, Capcom has been entertaining people around the world with exceptional gaming experiences and we're delighted that they have decided to release one of their most popular franchises for N-Gage. Resident Evil Degeneration will serve as an exciting new chapter for fans of the series and deliver a unique gaming experience that they will not be able to achieve anywhere else."
Takeshi Tezuka, general manager of Capcom's Mobile Division, added, "The release of Resident Evil Degeneration illustrates our dedication to N-Gage. No word yet on when Resident Evil Degeneration will hit N-Gage, but Nokia says this should happen before the year's end.
Since 1996, when the first Resident Evil game came out for PlayStation, more than 34.5 million titles based on the franchise have been sold worldwide. The RE series is often regarded as one of the best from the "survival horror" game genre.
