Funcom's secret world is unveiled

With the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures release date getting closer, Funcom has decided not to keep their next project, The Secret World so secret, so they gave a few details regarding the next MMO that will be available for the PC systems and Xbox 360 consoles. And there are some great things to hear, trust me!

First of all, it will be an Xbox 360 MMO - something that the gamers don't have now, but would love to have. Second, it's from the same guys that are bringing us the Age of Conan MMORPG, a game that appears to be a mega hit. But things are even better than you can imagine.

The developers reveal, via CVG, that the classic Japanese horror The Ring is a major inspiration for the game. Just imagine how cool it will be when playing such a horror game - and if you didn't see the Japanese movie, give it a shot and you'll understand why I am so excited. Not to mention the first concept art revealed nearly eight months ago - we'll have some ugly, ugly monsters and... er... some very nice looking nipples. But you haven't heard that from me.

Back to the game, product manager Erling Ellingson has explained what will make The Secret World be different from other MMOs: "We're putting a lot of effort into making huge, believable environments. You will actually be exploring vast cities such as London and New York. This creates some really exciting opportunities for us as a developer, to actually set a massive online game in real-world cities."

Having in mind that along with this real world comes another world beyond our own, one that has monsters, some very, very dark conspiracies and many myths and legends from our own world all we can say is that we are really waiting for a trailer or something. But since the game still has no release date set, we'll probably have to wait a little longer until this will be possible.
