Known once as a company making disposable cellphones, Hop-On has made available a smart phone called the HOP2001. Yes, we could think that this is not such a big deal, but the press release sure sounds a bit awkward to us. If you think twice, you'll realize that Hop-On is also specialized in mobile gambling technologies.

"This new PDA phone will have the ability to become the world's first handheld slot machine, bingo, video poker or black jack device." As you can see, these features are not something that a mobile phone developer would brag about.

Besides being a smart phone for the U.S. market only, the phone doesn't quite have a price. Still, the specifications that the HOP2001 has are way better than we would have expected. The handset features a dual-mode GSM or CDMA, a 320?240 full-color touchscreen display (for a better shot at the slots), a 3-Megapixel camera that knows to zoom 10x and autofocus. Moreover, the phone can be used for video recordings as well. We cannot forget about the Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, which can support up to 6 simultaneous Bluetooth pairings at the same time.

But, those at Hop-On didn't stop here. They got their model to wear Wi-Fi functionalities, a 256 MB Flash ROM and 128 MB SRAM. Another feature that this smartphone offers is the upgradeable memory by microSD cards, and lets not forget the GPS receiver, which combined with the Telenav software will guide you in case you need to get to a casino.

Available through AT&T and Verizon, the smartphone runs on Windows Mobile 6 platform, it impresses with its sleek and modern design, and with the expanded battery life. In the Talk Time mode, the phone can resist up to 4 hours, while in the Standby Time mode the phone will live up to 8 days.

Still, we can't forget about its gaming capabilities, which will make this phone pretty famous in certain crowds, because in the end, that's its main purpose: a virtual gaming machine.
