Hooray! Wino Ditches Her Husband!

It's baby steps for the British jazz diva

I was wondering how long this would take to happen - but luckily, I didn't place any bets with anyone, because I would have lost. Big time. I was rooting for Amy ditching her loser husband Blake in about five to six months, but it seems that things are happening a lot faster than I expected. Why am I saying this? Well, several reasons. First of all, the troubled British singer has apparently moved out of her "marital home" - the Camden crack den in which she and hubby Blake lived together up until he was arrested and sent to jail. Then, the jazz diva was seen more and more in the company of an American photographer who also goes by the name of Blake, and who - unlike the original "bad" Blake - is not addicted to anything unless you count vegetarian food as a dangerous habit.

Finally - and most importantly - for the first time in living memory, Amy failed to show up and support her husband at a court appearance that took place earlier today. Blake Fielder-Civil pleaded not guilty to a charge of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice, and was reportedly acting in a very agitated manner while in court, constantly glancing towards the public seats, obviously eager to see his wife. But Amy was a no-show, choosing not to attend because she was due to travel to Paris later in order to perform at a party for fashion designer Louis Vuitton. Well, what can I say - way to go Amy. I hope the singer really decides to stay as far away as possible from her crack-loving husband, who has a history of constant drug abuse, even in prison.

Despite her well-publicized stay in rehab, I personally have my doubts about Amy being over her very problematic drug habit. Only yesterday, friends of the singer's were expressing concerns that Amy was back on drugs - so you see, I pretty much doubt the simple absence of Fielder-Civil is enough to do the trick. So as much as I enjoy seeing Amy continue to work and moving into a new place, it may very well be that the singer would be better off enjoying a prolonged rehab stint. Just in case. Oh, and Bad Blake stays out of the picture for good.
