OpUSA, the campaign initiated by several hacktivist groups against the United States government, is scheduled to officially start on May 7. However, some hackers have already started attacking websites as part of this operation.

A hacker that uses the online moniker X-Blackerz Inc claims to have breached the official website of the Honolulu Police Department (honolulupd.org).

The hacker published a list of 23 @honolulupd.org email addresses and their associated passwords in clear text, HackRead reports.

The AnonGhost team has also started hacking sites for OpUSA. The group defaced hundreds of websites from all around the world. Most of the sites are commercial, but some of them are hosted on .gov and .edu domains.

On the other hand, only a few of the targeted sites belong to US organizations.

Although the hackers are confident that OpUSA will be a big success, according to a recent report by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the agency is not concerned. The DHS believes OpUSA will consist mostly of nuisance-level attacks.
