14 DAY TRIAL // Honey Boo Boo and her family, made famous on TLC’s insanely successful reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, had a very close brush with death after they were all involved in a serious car crash the other night, reports indicate.
Sugar Bear, the father, was driving the car when another crashed into them. TMZ reports that the accident was the other driver’s fault, because Sugar Bear had a green light for the left turn he was making.
In the car besides Sugar Bear were his wife Mama June and kids Honey Boo Boo, Pumpkin, and Jessica. All were taken to the hospital with injuries, but are not in any immediate danger right now, at least according to the aforementioned report.
“A guy driving a truck was allegedly speeding in the opposite direction with his lights off and crashed into them,” TMZ says of the crash.
EMTs were called to the scene but the Honey Boo Boo fam eventually went to the hospital in a SUV driven by their bodyguard – not because they’re too famous to ride the ambulance but because Mama June didn’t approve of the hospital the EMTs wanted to take them to.
“Pumpkin says Sugar Bear has a contusion on his back, Mama June has a back and neck sprain, Honey Boo Boo hit her head against a passenger window and has a headache, and Pumpkin herself has severe chest bruises and is having panic attacks,” TMZ adds.
As far as we know, all members of the reality family have already been released, but, besides the injuries, Mama June also suffers from a broken heart for the car totaled in the crash. “We've only had that Suburban for 6 months and it's not even paid off yet,” she says for the celebrity e-zine.
As noted above, Honey Boo Boo, a former kiddie beauty pageant contestant who appeared on “Toddlers & Tiaras” on the same network, and her family rose to international fame thanks to their new series. They’re making a lot of money off it but, a thing unheard of in showbiz before (at least not with reality stars), they continue to live almost the same as before because Mama June set up trust funds for the kids with the money.
