Young reality star is still helping her friend collect badges

Sometimes, it pays to have a friend who is a celebrity. Case in point, a Girl Scout who lists Honey Boo Boo (real name Alana Thompson) as a good friend who is willing to help her out by selling cookies, to collect badges.

Though Mama June, Alana’s mother, says that she’s been selling the cookies for some time, it’s just now that this is getting so much media attention – and it’s all partly because the Girl Scouts banned Honey Boo Boo from selling them online.

She was doing that through her official Facebook page, as the image attached to this article will confirm. Selling the cookies online is against regulation because it defeats the purpose of the activity, which implies the girls going out and interacting with people.

Following reports that Girl Scouts forced the young TLC star to end her Facebook campaign, Honey Boo Boo took her show on the road, E! News reports.

“After Alana Thompson was reportedly banned from selling Girl Scout Cookies on Facebook after starting an online campaign to help her pal sell the tasty treats, it seems the TLC star has found a solution, setting up shop at the Milledgeville Mall in Georgia,” the e-zine says.

“The sassy 7-year-old was snapped holding a handmade sign as she urges shoppers to buy a box, looking adorable in jeans and a green T-shirt which had ‘Hollywood’ written on the front in small print,” E! adds.

“Of course, the entire family—including Mama June, Pumpkin, Chubbs, Chickadee and Sugar Bear—were all in attendance to cheer on and support the cookie queen,” the same media outlet says.

No word yet on whether Honey Boo Boo’s “feud” with Girl Scouts will be documented on her family’s reality show but, considering her most recent outing, it’s probably safe to assume that it will be.
