TLC’s newest reality show hits more markets as ratings keep steady
Many TV critics say that shows like TLC’s “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” are the mark of the end, that America or even civilization as a whole is dead or on its way there. Be that as it may, but Honey Boo Boo is still one popular (reality) kid.TLC has announced that its newest and most successful reality series, which follows Alana Thompson (Honey Boo Boo) and her family around as she continues to be involved in the kiddie beauty pageants circuit, will be opening in more markets soon, the New York Post reports.
It’s already airing in certain countries in Eastern Europe, but will premiere in Italy, The Netherlands, Australia and Latin America as well.
Moreover, TLC is convinced it will be a hit here as well.
“In Poland, where it just started airing, it’s already No. 3 in terms of viewers,” says Luis Silberwasser, executive VP and chief content officer for Discovery Networks International, says for the NY Post.
“This is a slice of Americana — not typical America, but of a particular family in the South, and the international audience knows that there are many facets to American lives,” Silberwasser adds.
