Preview tackles topics such as love and hate, so-called “feud” with the Kardashians

That TLC has a new star is no longer a secret: her name is Alana Thompson but most of us at home know her as Honey Boo Boo Child, star of the new hit reality series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.” She and her mother June Shannon were on Anderson Cooper the other day.

As is customary, several previews for the show have emerged online and, again as usual, you can find them below, embedded at the end of this post.

Honey Boo Boo Child rose to fame on TLC’s “Toddlers and Tiaras,” the series that focuses on the world of kiddie beauty pageantry. Her own show is a spinoff of sorts.

Alana and her mother June were invited for a brief interview with Cooper via satellite. Among other things, they talk about their popularity and the harsh criticism they’ve been getting, but also about comparisons to another hugely successful family in reality TV, the Kardashians.

June, looking incredibly styled for once, says that she accepts and understands the divided reaction their family’s show has been getting: you can’t please everyone so they’re not even trying to do that.

Instead, she insists, they’re focusing on keeping those who love and support them entertained. Shannon makes a point of stressing that their reality show is not scripted – “this is who we are,” she says.

In the same interview (see the second video), Shannon addresses the recent report about how the Kardashian – Jenner matriarch / momager Kris Jenner hates her and her family for stealing their thunder.

Shannon could pick a fight with Jenner to get more publicity but, clearly, she either doesn’t want to because she doesn’t understand what good it would do her, or she doesn’t want to because she’s too confident in the success she’s already enjoying.

Bottom line, she’s playing by the rules in her comment on the so-called, for the time being one-directional feud between Jenner and herself.

Check out the two clips and tune in for the full interview to see what else these two had to say. As a side note, we can’t but remark on how Honey Boo Boo’s idea of “being cute” somehow involves breaking wind in front of the camera.
