The development team at Gearbox Software has announced that it managed to pick up the rights to the Homeworld franchise at the final THQ license auction and that fans are now invited to offer their feedback and express their wishes for the future.

The official announcement says that Brian Martel, the chief creative officer at Gearbox, is a great fan of Homeworld and led the effort to acquire the game universe.

The team adds, "Brian intends as first priority to direct Gearbox's interest to preserve and assemble the purest form of the original acclaimed and beloved games, Homeworld and Homeworld 2, with the intent of making them accessible on today's leading digital platforms."

Gearbox is also inviting all those who have development skills and are interested in the Homeworld franchise to contact the team if they want to be part of its future.
