The development team at Gearbox says that the development process for the High Definition remakes for Homeworld 1 and 2 is harder than the team expected because some of the necessary files were missing from the assets acquired at auction from THQ.

The company says that the two games will be offered separately, each costing 15 dollars or Euro.

Composer Paul Ruskay was hired to remake the audio because Gearbox failed to get the source files at auction and other third parties were also contacted to get all the original data for the two titles.

All the cinematics for Homeworld 1 and 2 are being re-drawn, but the main game experience will be the same, according to NeoGAF.

The development team says that it might also launch an artbook or a Collector’s Edition physical version of the two games as long as gamers show that they are interested in them.
