A former construction worker from Greenville, South Carolina just won $200,000 at the state lottery. The man was homeless at the time, and living in a local rescue mission.

The man bought a $10 scratch ticket at a liquor store, the NY Daily News informs. Since losing his job, his life had been a downward spiral, but this is sure to get it back on track. The man admits to staying up all night to look at the ticket, since finding out he was a winner.

The South Carolina Lottery has given out prizes totaling $2.8 billion, over a period of 10 years. Winning is not that easy, however, but the man still beat the 1 to 440,000 chances.

He is now planning to buy a home for him and his family.
