A homeless man from Bloomington, Illinois has won $50,000 (€38,700) at the lottery, after putting in just $3 (€2.3).

Dennis Mahurin, who has been living in a tent for 20 years, plans to “pay it forward” and has already announced that he would give every other homeless friend of his in the area a part of the winnings.

“With all the other homeless people around here, I've made up my mind. [...] I'm gonna give them each $100 (€77),” Mahurin says.

According to CI News Now, he will be upgrading his living conditions, but plans to do so by simply buying a bigger tent.

With the rest of the $35,000 (€27,000) he is getting after taxes, he wishes to visit his son, go to a dentist and get some work done and even put some of the money in a savings account.
