Sony is saying that 10 million users are now registered to use its Home social space, which is opened for free to all those who have a PlayStation 3 home gaming console. The significant milestone will be marked by the company through the release of no less than three new gaming spaces that users can enjoy.

The first of the spaces will be themed around Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the blockbuster created by Naughty Dog, while the second is build around Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time.

The company is also planning to release a Motostorm-themed one, complete with a DJ area, dance floors where users can show off their skills and chill out zones. It is promising that the new game spaces will allow players to interact with developers and offer direct feedback on the titles they enjoy.

Mark Hardy, who is the director for marketing for Europe at Sony, stated, “As we continue to develop integrated marketing campaigns, we are increasingly driven by the flexibility and level of engagement offered by our online channels. From PlayStation Blog to the SingStar community to the enormous creative potential of PlayStation Home, we are now having a proper, two way dialogue with our customers and at the same time giving them the opportunity to sample and shape the way we create our products.”

Sony initially launched Home in December 2008 as an open beta and has often said that it plans to bring a variety of content to the new social space, all of it built around the videogames it is offering for the PlayStation 3. Those who use the area can also pick up some virtual goods for real word money and the Japanese company has released a new MMO for the service, called Sodium One, which is initially free and then requires payments for additional levels.
