Home Depot Inc. is in hot water over a racist tweet involving two African American drummers and a man in a monkey suit. Viewers were asked to spot which of the people in the photo less resembles the other two.

According to the Daily Mail, the message was posted on Saturday and quickly deleted. The company has fired the person and the agency handling their tweets. The photo was part of a promotional campaign for ESPN's “College Game Day.”

Stephen Holmes, spokesman for the company, described the gesture as just plain “stupid and offensive.”

“We are deeply sorry for the dumb tweet and have deleted it,” they told every single person sending them messages and complaining about how racist the caption was.

Some users felt offended by not receiving a customized message. Home Depot has not given out the name of the agency previously handling its Twitter account.
