The lawyers of both actors have finally reached an agreement concerning the prenuptial contract that sort of binds young Katie to her more 'mature' husband.
The papers were signed and, according to them, if divorce should be pronounced, Katie will receive a house in California and $3 million for each year that she spent married to Tom.
The agreement is valid for 11 years, when it becomes void, as the California community property law states. So, if she manages to remain married (to Tom, of course!) for this period she will not leave empty-handed and her bank account will be bigger by $33 million.
Rumors say that Katie's parents were still trying to end the relationship, even after the birth of the baby girl Suri, but that they calmed down and eased their minds when they heard that she has nothing to lose, on the contrary.
Some members of their circle of friends added that Holmes is forced to remain married to Tom at least for a couple of years, because she wouldn't stand a chance in court for the custody of the baby against Cruise's money and connections.
