To get more video content on iTunes, Apple needs to enforce limitations

I agree that piracy is not something to tolerate and each one of us can do something to stop it; but - in my opinion - the fight against it starts to look like a witch hunt in some cases, and since Apple has a lot to do with the online distribution of various media content, it became just another target. So...who's the hunter this time?

Well, it's not really a hunt, but Apple is under pressure these days. The "big ones" from Hollywood - Universal, Paramount, 20th Century Fox and Warner Bros - are worried about digital piracy, and so they would like to see the operating environment of the iTunes platform changed, but you shouldn't worry about these changes, since these companies are already engaged in negotiations with Apple on making their films available for digital download on iTunes.

The demand of the studios - that may not sound nice for many people - is the limitation of devices that can use a film downloaded from iTunes. These companies that I told you about earlier want to avoid the fate of the music industry that still has to recover from years of piracy, but I don't think limitations are the solution.

Every fence makes people think how to jump it, dig under or make a hole to pass through it in some countries, and I guess the best solution is to increase the awerness of every human being that can understand some basic things, namely that piracy is theft.

Well, until Apple manages to finish crafting its improved file protection for videos that will make it to your iPods through iTunes, we'll have to wait and be happy with what we have at the moment.
