14 DAY TRIAL // Former glamour girl – and Hugh Hefner’s Number One for a long time – Holly Madison recently welcomed her first child into the world and, as we saw on TV a couple of days ago, also got engaged and started planning a wedding.
Her fiancé’s legal troubles might end up putting a damper on those, Radar Online reports.
Pasquale Rotella, the father of Holly’s daughter Rainbow Aurora, is now on trial for a string of very serious charges, which could land him behind bars for the next 14 years, if he’s found guilty.
Rotella is being charged with bribery, embezzlement, conspiracy, and conflict of interest.
“Rotella appeared in a Los Angeles court in a pretrial conference for a case by the Los Angeles County District Attorney, which alleges that the event planner used more than $2.5 million [€1.94 million] in funds from the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, where he hosted raves, to pay off city officials,” Radar reports.
“Rotella was indicted alongside five other men involved with his company, Insomniac events. Currently out on a $1.8 million [€1.39 million] bail, he could serve up to 13 years and 8 months in prison if convicted,” adds the same media outlet.
In public statements, Rotella’s attorney maintained he was innocent and wrongfully accused. The lawyer also said that he had every hope Rotall would be vindicated in a court of law.
The trial started this week, shortly after E! aired a TV special with Holly’s birth and, as we also informed you yesterday, Rotella’s proposal.
The two new parents have also set a wedding date, for August.
As Radar points out, Holly isn’t worried about the outcome of the trial either.
“Holly doesn’t seem concerned with her soon-to-be-husband’s legal problems, recently telling People magazine she’s planning to have a ‘Kardashian-sized family’ with him,” says the celebrity publication.
