14 DAY TRIAL // ABC bosses and The View producers have the perfect replacement for Joy Behar on the show, but their biggest problem is that she’s working for rival network NBC and getting her to leave might not be a walk in the park.
Page Six reports that Hoda Kotb is being intensely courted by ABC to make the move from The Today Show to The View.
She will effectively come to replace Behar when she leaves after 16 years.
“Hoda addresses several of their needs. She has news experience, which is something The View has not had since Meredith Vieira left. She also adds some diversity to the panel,” says an insider.
While The View producers are said to be “very interested” in signing Hoda, the e-zine doesn’t even mention whether she’s even half as interested in leaving NBC and, with it, her good friend, co-host and drinking partner Kathie Lee Gifford.
