Hitman: Sniper Challenge, the special game that’s going to be released tomorrow for those who pre-order Hitman: Absolution at GameStop, emphasizes replayability and will offer a great experience, according to IO Interactive, its developer.

Fans of the Hitman series were treated with a very special announcement last week, when Square Enix and IO Interactive, together with North American retailer GameStop, said that those who pre-order Hitman: Absolution will receive Hitman: Sniper Challenge, a special mini-game, for free.

We’ve already heard plenty of details about the downloadable experience and we even saw it in action thanks to a video last week.

Now, IO Interactive’s Luke Valentine has talked about Hitman: Sniper Challenge with CVG, saying that the mini-game has quite a lot of content.

"The agency sniper rifle that you use in the Sniper Challenge is a weapon that you immediately carry over to Hitman: Absolution as soon as you play it. Based on your progress, over time you accumulate more points and as you go through thresholds of different points you'll unlock upgrades,” he said about its gameplay.

While Sniper Challenge only has a single level, Valentine is confident that its high replay value will keep players hooked on the experience until the full-fledged Hitman: Absolution arrives in November.

"Sniper Challenge is a one level experience. One way of looking at it is that it's a 15 minute game and that's it, but what people will discover when they play it is that it's so rich, and so full of replay value that you can spend a considerable amount of time playing it."

Square Enix will also offer plenty of prizes to the best snipers on the game’s leaderboards, including a trip to Copenhagen, Denmark, to visit the headquarters of IO Interactive.

The mini-game is out tomorrow, on May 15, for those who pre-order Hitman: Absolution at GameStop for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Those who pre-purchase the PC version will have to wait until August 1, when Sniper Challenge will appear on Steam.
