Square Enix and Del Rey have confirmed that the upcoming Hitman: Absolution video game will be getting a prequel book, called Hitman: Damnation, which is written by famous novelist Raymond Benson.

Hitman: Absolution is set to deliver a different type of experience, as fans can once again try out their stealth skills but, in case they fail, they can still complete missions with more bloodshed than expected.

We have already heard some details about the game’s story and now it seems that those looking for even more info about its narrative will be able to enjoy a full-fledged novel called Hitman: Damnation. The book will be out this summer and is set between Hitman: Blood Money and the upcoming Absolution, following Agent 47 as he tries to assassinate a high-level American political figure.

The novel is penned by Raymond Benson, a writer that already published six book and three film novelizations focusing on James Bond. Under the pseudonym David Michaels he also wrote Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell and its sequel, Operation Barracuda.

The actual Hitman: Absolution game is expected to arrive towards the end of the year.
