After IO Interactive has announced that the upcoming Hitman: Absolution was set to have a Purist mode, designed to be harder than the first game in the series, the fan base has asked the development team to make it available from the start of the game, with no unlock mechanic.

The arguments of the player base seem to have resonated with the team and now IO Interactive has confirmed that players who buy the game will be able to jump straight into Purist mode.

A representative of IO Interactive has stated on the official forum of the game that, “It seems voicing your concern helps from time to time.”

He added, “I’ve just heard back from the team that Purist mode is now designed to be unlocked from the get go. Unless something critical happens, I feel confident that you can all get your butts handed to you from the first playthrough.”

Those who opt for the Purist mode in Hitman: Absolution will eliminate the Instinct ability for Agent 47 and will also hide all the Heads Up Display elements that can help a player navigate an area.

This means that players will have to rely on their own memory and senses to complete the various objectives of the game.

It will be interesting to see how many gamers will actually choose to play with the Purist mode, considering that the series is already known for its level of difficulty.

The new Hitman video game will see Agent 47 isolated and forced into a difficult situation where he needs his survival and combat skills to survive.

The game is designed to appeal to long-term fans of the series while also bringing in new recruits.

Hitman: Absolution will be launched on November 20 and will be available on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC.
