Hitchhiker Gets a Tattoo for Every Car That Doesn’t Pick Him Up

Tony Weingartner is a French artist who decided that art is, indeed, pain, and wanted to share this with the world. He filmed his tattoo session in Tenerife in 2012, and posted a video documenting it on YouTube on Tuesday.

According to the Huffington Post, Weingartner and partner Chifumi refer to their experiment as “The Radical Drift.” Every time a car goes by without picking him up, Weingartner gets inked on his rib, below his right arm.

The tattoos represent the tally marks, and, by the end of the video, he already had 48. We can only imagine getting a ride would get more difficult as the numbers of tattoos increased.

Happily, Tony does get picked up at the end of the video.
