Around September this year Hitachi launched the stylish W43H for AU featuring a 2.1 megapixel camera with autofocus
and anti-blur function, and DBEX, a signal processing technology that improves sound quality.
Now, the time has come for
Hitachi to introduce the second generation of W43H, named W43H II, a chic clamshell phone that will be available in both black for the more serious and pink for whoever likes the color.
Compared to other mobile phones on the Japanese market, the 2 megapixel built-in camera is not very impressive and brings no obvious improvements compared to its predecessor either.
It still features headphones with DBEX technology for high quality sound, a large, bright 2.6 inch color screen supporting a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels and 50MB of internal memory (while the W43H featured 512MB). Although up until now the W43H II sounds just like your average clamshell Japanese phone, it also sports a 1Seg digital TV tuner that allows users to watch digital TV wherever and whenever they want to and even record their favorite programs.
Since storage space is no longer a problem these days, W43H II also features a
MicroSD card slot that supports up to 2GB MicroSD memory cards, which should be enough for storing a decent amount of music, photos and other content.
There is no information regarding the price of this stylish clamshell with mirror-like exterior finish, but it will be released pretty soon, around January 2007 and most likely only on the Japanese market, just like the W43H.
