PAID Inc. Celebrity Services launched a new iPhone app. Created for the Aerosmith famous drummer, Joey Kramer, the newly released app invites iPhone users to challenge their drumming skills. The drummer’s fans can compete with one another to repeat the legendary drummer’s beats on their iPhone or “freestyle” some of their own beats in the freestyle playing mode.

“Drummers love challenges – I think it’s in our blood,” Joey Kramer said quite amused. “You can’t get two or more of us together without someone starting to knock out a beat, so ‘Hit Hard’ is just a natural outgrowth of what drummers love to do.”

“Hit Hard” features 15 levels. Each level of the game includes a mock lesson from Joey Kramer and the player can tap the correct sequence to suit Kramer’s beat. On the screen, the icons light up every time the taps correspond to the correct beats, BusinessWire relates. As a reward, after completing each of the 15 levels, the player will receive a personalized message from Joey Kramer.

The game has a leader board and the users are engaged in a competition on who comes closest to matching Kramer’s crushing grooves. The difficulty increases as the game goes on. When all of the levels have been completed, the player can enter the High Score Contest, and they have a big chance to win a special prize from Kramer.

“I love the app PAID, Inc. has put together for me. The design is killer and the beats are so on – it’s crazy.” he added.

In the freestyle play, users can tap various drums and cymbals on Joey’s drum kit on the screen. The sounds are replayed in real time. This play-mode is not scored and therefore does not enter the Hit Hard competition. It’s a good way to practice and improve one’s skills!

“We are always seeking to deliver programs that build our artists’ direct-to-fan connection attracting new fans and energizing their existing fan communities,” Keith Garde, president of PAID, Inc. celebrity services, noted. “The ‘Hit Hard’ app brings a 'piece' of Joey to his fans. This project is another example of how we at PAID, Inc. engage with our clients in a way that provides for personal and customized campaigns dedicated to building artist-to-fan, fan-to-fan and fan-to-artist connected communities.”

The name of the app, “Hit Hard,” comes from Joey Kramer’s book “Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Bottom at the Top,” released in June 2009, BusinessWire also relates. In it, Kramer wrote about his hard life, childhood abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, depression and detailed how he lived these experiences as a member of one the greatest rock bands ever known, eventually suffering a nervous breakdown and witnessing Aerosmith’s comeback, the source added. As a member of Aerosmith, Kramer has sold more than 150 million albums, 21 of which have gone multi-Platinum.
