Why ask $150.000 for such a dumb-looking guitar?

I must admit I am no guitar collector, even if I have some guitars at home and have been playing for 15 years now... I simply am not into collecting all sorts of guitars just to brag that they're on my wall; this is because two simple reasons - first of all I like to buy stuff I really use and secondly, I will never spend huge sums of money on things that are silly...not even if I owned all freakin' planet.[admark=1]

Now, for those who can't rest at night if they see something they don't have yet... here's one thing to disturb your sleep: the history of Flight guitar from Martin. I am not that sure if I should spend my time telling you how nice Martin guitars are (played some myself)... it's more than obvious that someone who's willing to pay 150 grands on the History of Flight guitar is interested less in what it can do...

The History of Flight guitar is a Martin guitar that comes with a ton of pearl inlays depicting the history of flight (doh!) from the early ballooning days, to the Wright brothers and up to the modern, space age. This is it, I could very well stop here... because there isn't much more to tell about it. It's a Martin guitar therefore it will sound fantastic; are you a sucker for luxury decorated guitars AND a fan of flight history? Can't you find better use for $150.000? This is your day, go get it!

The History of Flight guitar has been decorated by the master Larry Robinson and comes with Brazillian Rosewood back and sides and solid Adirondack Spruce top. The eighteen pictures have been made by Mr. Larry Robinson from blue paua pearl and are true work of art, things you will rarely meet again except for guitars that come out from his hands.

Besides the guitar itself, the owner and Guitar Center (playing a serious role in Martin ad) CEO, Marty Albertson, will be flown from any corner of the US to the CF Martin & Co headquarters in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, have the tour of the facility, meet the CEO Chris Martin, and finally lay hands on the History of Flight guitar. It comes in a carbon fiber case together with a DVD with Larry Robinson and his work.

Now, you be the judge... the idea was great, there was a lot of work and passion involved...but myself, I still guess it looks dumb.
