More tablet-related news from China are coming our way. Chinese manufacturer Hisense has just launched its newest product, in the form of the 8-inch Sero 8.

You might remember Hisense’s low-cost alternative to the Nexus 7 launched back in 2013, the Sero 7. However, the new slate is already up for pre-order in the UK for a meager £90 / $150 / €109 a pop, but the product will probably be even cheaper if it comes to American shores.

As for specs, the Hinsense Sero 8 doesn't offer anything jaw-dropping, but at this price-range what can you expect? Anyway, the tablet has an 8-inch IPS 5-point multi-touch screen, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and an 1.6GHz Rockchip RK3188T quad-core processor living under the hood.

The tablet is fitted with a standard 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The good news is the slate runs Android 4.4 KitKat goodness. Apart from that, there’s 802.11 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, dual cameras (2MP on the back and VGA up in front) and a 4,000 mAh battery keeping everything alive.

Even if nothing screams spectacular about this tablet, the Sero 8 seems like a decent enough slate to have around the house on which you can perform daily basic tasks.
