Hired Gun Out to Get K-Fed?

This is by far the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. It looks like Entertainment Tonight and TMZ are going head to head in a battle of statements over the fact that someone may have actually hired a contract murderer to kill Kevin Federline.

It is claimed that both the FBI and the LAPD have been investigating legitimate leads connected to these rumors and that they've even warned Federline that someone wants his head. But come on, isn't this the most ridiculous thing in the world? And I don't mean the story of the alleged threat being made public, but the very idea that there is someone out there willing to pay to have K-Fed killed.

And if it were for real, I am pretty sure most of us would expect Britney's camp to be behind it, somehow - which would be even more ridiculous, because even someone with half a brain could see that K-Fed isn't worth all the money a paid hit man would ask for. Joke. No, but really, this isn't a movie - no more wild, wild West flicks, today we have lawyers and custody battles and celebrity magazines for people to take stabs at each other, no need for silently stalking gunmen. Although, truth be told, a hired gunman probably comes in cheaper than attorney fees. Kidding.

The LAPD dismissed the idea of an ongoing investigation, but admitted they did look into it earlier in the summer. "The department does not currently have an open investigation" they state. "There was an investigation conducted in June, but there was insufficient evidence to substantiate the allegation, and the investigation was closed". The FBI was also very vague and released a statement claiming that the agency received "non-specific, uncorroborated information" regarding a possible threat and referred the whole undocumented mess over to the LAPD.

So, it looks like someone did think about it, but I continue to believe it was probably Britney in a temper shouting things she definitely didn't mean. Either that, or K-Fed made some enemies trying to break into the rapping industry. But I admit a plot to K-Fed's life was all that was missing from the list of "bad things Britney has done". And there was me thinking that screwing up her career and almost losing custody of her kids was enough.
