Not many are the women, no matter whether they’re stars or not, who are so fond of their workout routine that they admit they’d go crazy if they skipped just one session. Actress Hilary Swank, for instance, is one of them, telling the latest issue of Marie Claire that she loves working out so much she simply can’t go a day without getting some exercise. Clearly, her perfectly toned body stands as proof of said fondness of exercise.

Hilary Swank is often described as the kind of star who hasn’t even a single girlie bone in her body. This applies to anything, from the way she dresses and carries herself to the little things that reportedly make a woman’s life better, like getting their hair done, a manicure or their eyebrows reshaped. For Swank, the only thing that can put her in a good mood – aside from the weekly massage and the occasional pedicure – is hitting the gym everyday.

“I love working out! I started swimming when I was 3 years old. I was a gymnast, a swimmer, a basketball player... To me, working out is literally like eating a meal or drinking water or breathing. If I don’t, I just feel like [really bad]. Not physically, like, Ew, what’s hanging over my pants? But I just feel really ornery. I start punching actors. Not hard – I don’t get mean. I do Krav Maga, which is Israeli martial arts; I do pilates.” the two-time Oscar-winning actress says for the magazine.

Clearly, her body shows the signs of this immense dedication. Still, Swank also likes to pamper herself whenever she gets the chance: it’s just not in the way other, most women would do. For instance, instead of shopping, she likes to get her pedicure done. Hilary hates shopping and that’s perhaps because she’s always trying on clothes, either for movie premieres and the red carpet, or photoshoots. On the other hand, she has liked getting foot-baths ever since she was a little girl, she reveals for the mag.

“The amount of pampering I do is: I try to get a massage every other week – just stretch and get everything moving. I don’t like manicures, but I love a pedicure. The whole ritual of putting your foot in a footbath, with the massage and just relaxing for a second – I really like that. I’m a big foot-soaker. When I was a little girl, I would just sit on the counter and soak my feet. I will say that because of the business, I hate to go shopping, because I am constantly trying on clothes, whether it’s for a movie or a [photo shoot].” Hilary says.
