Hillary Swank Blames Husband's Addiction for the Split

Double Oscar-winning actress, Swank (31) spoke about the reasons that lead to her and Chad Lowe's divorce in May. In an interview for the 'Vanity Fair' issue, that is to appear in August, Hillary accuses her husband's addiction as the straw that broke the camel's back.

The 'Million Dollar Baby' told the magazine that she was in complete shock when she found out about his illegal substances-related problems because, never in their married life, had she thought that he would keep something from her.

At the same time, the news came as a confirmation of the fact that they were facing real problems and that they had grown too much apart.

Hillary stood by her next-to-be-ex husband during his battle with the addiction, but refuses to say exactly what the used substance was. Nevertheless, she adds that her blooming career was not among the reasons that lead to their divorce.
