A little more than a week passed since Hilary Duff sought a restraining order against a Russian teenager who was so infatuated and obsessed with her that he constantly sent her love letters, in which he clearly stated that they must be together and, in order for that to happen, to eliminate Hilary's boyfriend Joel Madden of the Good Charlotte.
The stalker, named in court papers as 'Max Doe', continued to visit Hillary and her family's neighborhoods even after the restraining order was issued and to make threatening calls. Sunset Protective Services and Investigations, the company that deals with security issues for all A-listers (including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie), managed to send an investigator who befriended the Russian teenager, Maksim Miakovsky.
To him, the fanatic fan revealed that he planned to murder Hilary during an event that was scheduled to take place Sunday and then take his own life. He claimed that his sole purpose in coming to America had been that of being romantically involved with the teen idol and, seeing that this could not come true, there was no other way around to end this than by being both dead.
Consequently, police officers were posted outside the venue where Hilary and Joel were present and Maksim was taken into custody. He was then charged with stalking and making criminal threats and is being now held on a $200,000 bail in Manhattan Beach jail. His arraignment has been scheduled for Tuesday.
The 19-year-old singer and actress hasn't made any comment yet on the arrest of the man who constantly pursued and threatened her for the past six weeks.
