After writing about servers and their latest storage products, we are bringing you information on the RocketStor SMART Backup product from HighPoint Technologies.

The RocketStor SMART Backup is basically a dual-bay storage device that connects to PCs or Mac Systems via USB 3.0.

This means that it is not a NAS (network-attached storage) device, but still communicates at quick rates.

And with not one but two USB 3.0 links in play, that leads to a rate of 10 Gbps, which is nothing to scoff at.

The docking bays come with the SATA 6.0 Gbps interface, meaning that most SATA HDDs and SSDs are supported.

What's more, the RocketStor SNAP Button initiates pre-configured backup sessions, while the Adaptive Backup Mode monitors changes to source files/directories.

Data Restoration is part of the feature list as well (a timestamp feature that restores important files in case of data loss).

Mid-March is when sales begin, but the price hasn't been given yet.
