With two 5Gb/s USB 3.0 engines, they maximize transfer

The RocketStor 5122B and RocketStor 5212 from HighPoint Technologies are capable of pushing the USB 3.0 connection to the maximum thanks to their dual-dedicated 5Gb/s USB 3.0 engines.

As such, the drive docks, while not capable of operating at the full SATA III specification (6 Gbps is more than the maximum available to USB 3.0 after all), do come very close.

There are many USB 3.0 devices out there, but these two are among the very few who near, not to mention reach, the theoretical upper limit of 5 Gbps.

That said, RocketStor 5122B comes with the Smart Backup Solution for Windows operating systems, while the RocketStor 5212 (not yet available) uses Intel Thunderbolt.

Real-world transfers should go even above 400 MB/s for each of the two drive bays (each gets its own USB 3.0 link). The price is $89.99 / 74.43 Euro and all the other info can be found here.
