As the official release date for Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system approaches, more leaked info on the mobile phones that would run under it started to emerge.

Following the previously spotted HTC Mondrian, some photos and specs of HTC Spark also made it into the wild, offering us the possibility to take a closer look at the upcoming platform version.

This is not the first time we stumble upon this mobile phone, and should not be the last time either, especially if it arrives on the market among the first devices powered by Windows Phone 7.

The photos attached to this article come from the xda-developers forums, and were accompanied by a series of specifications on this handset, offering us a better idea of what HTC might have in store for us in this area.

A number of twenty-one high resolution images of HTC Spark running under Windows Phone 7 were brought to light, all of which can be seen at xda-developers here (or at BGR here.)

In case there are some who might have not encountered the HTC Spark before, we should note that it is expected to come to the market with a 1 GHz processor inside, accompanied by 512 MB of RAM and 512 MB of ROM.

Moreover, the new mobile phone should include 8GB of internal memory, as well as a 3.8-inch touchscreen display that boasts a 480 x 800 pixel (WVGA) resolution.

The specifications list of this device would also include support for dual-band HSPA/UMTS radios and quad-band GSM radios, as well as Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity options.

At the same time, we should expect the device to pack a-GPS/GPS, FM radio, digital compass, a 1,300 mAh battery, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash.

This is not the first Windows Phone 7 handset from HTC that should land on the market in the near future, though it still remains to be seen when an official announcement on its arrival would be made.
