Since we've seen a gaming mini PC this week, it's only fair that we check out the other type, the sort used in the following fields: HMI, Embedded Control, Digital Signs, Kiosks, Process Control, Mobile Navigation, Thin-Clients and Data Acquisition etc.

Released by Stealth PC, the new computer is called LPC-681 and has a hardware configuration centered around the Intel Haswell Core i7-4800MQ mobile processor.

A quad-core processor of considerable power, the CPU boasts HD 4600 graphics and is backed up by up to 16 GB of DDR3L memory. It also provides three video ports, specifically a DisplayPort and two HDMI outputs.

Storage-wise, you get a choice between a 240GB, 480GB and 1TB HDD, though a 120 GB SSD is included in any case (for fast data access by caching important files and holding the OS).

All in all, the newcomer, which measures 6.54 x 6.18 x 1.89 inches / 166 x 156 x 48 mm, should do quite well for itself, although the price might make people wince: $2,395 / €1,789 - €2,395.

Stealth LPC-681 works on 19VDC power and runs Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Embedded and Linux operating systems. 1-Gigabit LAN, 2-USB 3.0, 2-USB 2.0, 1-Serial, 2-e-SATA, Audio In/Out ports, and optional 802.11 b/g/n wireless networking complete the spec sheet.
