Walton Chaintech announced the release of its latest APOGEE DDR2 667/800MHz 2GB SO-DIMM aimed for use in high-end notebook or laptop computer systems. As operating systems and general purpose applications demand more and more from the hardware layer, and especially from the CPU and memory subsystems, the APOGEE memory module comes just in time for mobile computer users that need a higher memory
capacity.

Since the release of Microsoft Windows Vista, notebook and laptop users are forces to spend more and more RAM on the diverse visual effects and applications offered by the operating system. This is where the APOGEE memory module comes into play as its capacity and speed makes it perfect for users who want the best that Vista has to offer.

The APOGEE DDR2 667/800MHz 2GB SO-DIMM memory modules follow the standard fro the DDR2 memory as it was drawn up by JEDEC (Joint Electronic Device Engineering Council ), offering low power consumption (critically important in a mobile computer system) and excellent heat dissipation combined with superior transfer rates and maximum stability. During their manufacture process, all memory chips undergo several tests to ensure that only premium quality memory modules reach the end user. According to the manufacturer company: the "All-in-House" process is implemented with the solid "wafer-in, module-out" model, giving the most quality control and production efficiency".

Coming in a single memory module with a standard capacity of 2GB, the APOGEE family can be used single or in conjunction with another module, enabling the application of a dual channel memory layout on the host computer system. The APOGEE family comes in two variations, one running at standard frequency of 667MHz and one at a little higher 800MHz frequency. Using two APOGEE memory modules, it is possible to reach a high limit of 4GB of installed memory on computers running a 64-bit based operating system.
