They are long and thin and ship with external enclosures, just in case

Apple's MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with Retina laptops are pretty sleek and decent in terms of storage space, but there's always room for improvement, and OWC has just revealed one such option for improvement.

Well, technically, there are two options for improvement, or rather two sets of options.

There's the Aura SSD model line for MacBook Air, made of three drives, and the Aura SSD model collection for MacBook Pro with Retina display.

The former series is composed of three storage units, with capacities of 120 GB, 240 GB and 480 GB, respectively.

In that order, the prices are of $95 / €95, $159 / €159 and $299 / €299, plus an extra $25-30 / €25-30 if you want the Envoy Bundle as well (Envoy/Envoy Pro external enclosure and DIY kit).

The Aura SSD line for MacBook Pro with Retina laptops only includes 240 GB and 480 GB drives priced at $159 / €159 and $299 / €299, respectively (this time with $40 / €40 premium for the enclosure kit).

The Aura SSDs should work 5.8 times faster than the storage units that the Apple notebooks ship with by default. That's in addition to the several-fold increase in capacity (up to eight times more compared to the stock options).
