Veteran video game developer Hideo Kojima has announced that he will not be making any appearance at the upcoming E3 trade show, which means that no new huge Kojima Productions video games will be announced at the Sony or the Microsoft press conferences.

Still Konami, the company that funds the Hideo Kojima lead studio, plans to have a pre E3 event on June 2 and will then have a presence at the show itself, which means that gamers will be able to get information on the projects that the studio is already working on, like the Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

Last week Kojima suggested that recording sessions had started on his latest video game project, although he refused to offer fans a name of hints about what series the game might be part of.

Recent statements from the developer have also suggested that he has spent one year working on a project but that recent circumstances have made all his time meaningless, which might mean that a project from Kojima has been canceled by Konami.

The two big projects that Kojima is now working on are Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D for the Nintendo 3DS handheld and Metal Gear Solid: Rising, which is set to detail the pre Metal Gear Solid 4 adventures of secondary character Raiden.

Snake Eater 3D will offer all the content from the original game, but will put the player in the middle of the action by suing the unique three-dimensional abilities of the new device from Nintendo.

Gamers have been told that Konami is aiming to get the game out before the end of the year, probably during November.

Rising is a whole new project that focuses on a character that has been part of the series, but never took the main stage.

The game will have a set of new mechanics, based on cutting enemies, which will make combat more visceral and engaging.
