This is the first Windows Phone to feature dual-SIM CDMA+GSM capabilities

Last week, Chinese mobile phone maker HiSense officially announced its first Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 handset, in the form of HiSense Nana, and the device has already been listed on the company’s website.

The smartphone will arrive on shelves with rather modest hardware specifications, but it will include one feature that no other Windows Phone handset out there features, namely dual-SIM CDMA and GSM connectivity.

Unfortunately, the mobile phone might arrive on shelves only in China, as the handset vendor hasn’t announced plans to bring it to more markets out there too.

Those lucky enough to grab the new HiSense Nana(model no.E260T) will enjoy pretty decent performance levels on it, that’s for sure.

Moreover, the phone will be released with the Chinese version of Cortana (called Huna) loaded on it right from the start, yet another appealing feature in addition to the aforementioned dual-SIM capabilities.

Specs-wise, however, the phone does not stand out from the crowd, as it was launched with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 854 x 480 pixels resolution (though the company touts it as offering an HD resolution).

HiSense Nana is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM8610) processor that has been paired with 512MB of RAM.

Moreover, the mobile phone arrives on the market with 4GB of internal memory, as well as with a microSD memory card slot for storage expansion purposes, offering support for memory cards of up to 32GB.

On the back, the new device sports an 8-megapixel camera, most probably capable of recording videos in HD resolution. It was also announced with a 5MP front camera, which should prove a great option when it comes to taking selfies or making video calls while on the go.

The handset also comes with the usual set of connectivity capabilities inside, among which 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS receiver.

Over the next few weeks, the smartphone will become available for purchase in China via online retailer LD.com, with a price tag of 599 Yuan ($97/€73) attached to it, as WMPoweruser notes. Other retailers in the country are also expected to make the device available for their customers.

One thing that should be noted here, however, is the fact that Nana is not the first Windows Phone 8.1 device coming from HiSense, as the company also released the HiSense MIRA 6 on China Telecom earlier this year.

Soon, other mobile phone makers in the country should release Windows Phone 8.1-based devices, which will increase competition in the area and which, hopefully, will also result in the development of higher-end handsets.
