On forums, official website, Twitter, you name it, the same question comes again and again. When will Counter Strike: Global Offensive be available on the Linux platform?
There have been sporadic rumors and information and about the cause of the absence, but it seems to be more of a problem of porting the game for the Linux platform.
Even if it uses the Source engine, which already powers a few Linux games, it's not that easy to make Counter Strike: Global Offensive work on the open source platform.
The other big absent from the Valve catalog is Portal 2, which also uses an advanced version of the Source engine. The two problems might be related.
