Blizzard confirms that on June 2, when its Heroes of the Storm online multiplayer experience launches, those who favor a retail release will be able to get a special Starter Pack in stores that includes five heroes, as well as a special skin and a mount.

Heroes of the Storm is currently in a closed beta stage, which kicked off earlier this year, after spending 2014 as part of a closed technical alpha test phase. The game has recently received dates for the open beta, which starts this month, and for its official release, which is going to take place on June 2.

Heroes of the Storm Starter Pack includes lots of goodies

After teasing new content like heroes, battlegrounds, and other features, Blizzard now confirms that the June 2 release date is also going to bring forth a Heroes of the Storm Starter Pack, which will be available in retail stores, according to the official website.

While the actual Heroes of the Storm game is a free-to-play experience, meaning anyone with a valid Battle.net account can download and play the multiplayer online battle arena title come June 2, the special Starter Pack costs 20 USD/EUR as it includes a variety of content.

First up, there are five heroes, in the form of Zeratul, Jaina, Li Li, Sonya, and Zagara, as well as a special Ronin Zeratul skin and a Golden Tiger mount that's exclusive only to owners of the HotS Starter Pack. In case you already have some of those heroes, each are available as separate redeemable codes, so you can share them with friends.

Special discounted content bundles will also be available in the in-game store, so Blizzard asks fans to be on the lookout for more deals. Also on June 2, special Heroes of the Storm-branded Battle.net gift cards will also be available in retail stores, so that players can top up their Battle.net account balance with real money and be ready to buy any flash sales.
