Blizzard confirms that its Heroes of the Storm multiplayer online battle arena experience is going to enter open beta on May 19, and then fully launch on June 2 for the PC platform. In honor of this upcoming achievement, lots of surprises are planned.

Heroes of the Storm was presented to the world by Blizzard last year, and immediately entered a closed technical alpha stage on the PC platform, as a small number of people were invited to test out the multiplayer experience.

At the beginning of 2015, Blizzard brought forth the closed beta stage for Heroes of the Storm, bringing forth an updated version of the online title, while ramping up new content releases and deploying various updates in recent months.

Heroes of the Storm officially launches in June

Now, after allowing even more people to test out the game, Blizzard confirms that Heroes of the Storm is going to enter an open beta period on May 19 while the full launch is going to take place on June 2, worldwide.

In honor of the announcement, a special video was presented by Blizzard, hyping up the game's features, as well as the fun had by fans during recent events like Heroes of the Dorm.

The studio also mentions that a special launch event will be held on June 1 in London, and those that can't make it will be able to enjoy a live stream worldwide.

No further wipes will be made, meaning current progress and purchases made during the closed beta will carry over into the open beta and the full game. As such, don't worry about spending in-game gold or real-world cash on content in Heroes of the Storm.

Expect to see more updates and new heroes for the popular game in the following weeks, as Blizzard has big plans for its multiplayer online battle arena experience. Until then, check out the new video below.
