Blizzard has just revealed a few more details about one of the new characters from its upcoming Heroes of the Storm multiplayer online battle arena title, in the form of Muradin, the famous dwarf from the Warcraft universe.

Heroes of the Storm is Blizzard's attempt at going back into the MOBA market, which it inadvertently supported via the DotA fan mode based on its Warcraft 3 real-time strategy experience.

The new title is set to introduce quite a lot of different mechanics into the genre, from a team-wide leveling system to way more varied maps that include a lot of different neutral AI monsters and weapons that can be used by one team or the other.

After going in-depth with a few of the different heroes from the new MOBA title, Blizzard has just revealed a comprehensive blog post about another one, in the form of Muradin, one of the most emblematic characters from the Warcraft universe.

The studio first offered some backstory on the character, who mentored prince Arthas but failed to prevent him from turning into the Lich King. The hero will certainly relish the chance to encounter the Lich King in the new game, as he is among the list of confirmed heroes at launch.

"In Heroes of the Storm, Muradin takes on the role of a durable Warrior who excels at diving into the heat of battle and disrupting enemies, while protecting teammates. This fearsome dwarf will fight beside you until his last breath, and he’s just the Bronzebeard you’ll want by your side as you brawl in the Nexus."

The studio also offered some actual tips when it comes to Muradin's different abilities, which include Dwarf Toss, Haymaker, or Second Wind, so check out the recommendations from Blizzard below.

"Muradin can take a beating, so don’t be afraid to ruffle a few feathers. "Dwarf Toss" [E] outputs damage when Muradin lands. Feel free to use the ability as a way to engage opponents. "Haymaker" [R] is great for knocking opponents away from your squishy teammates, like Valla or Tyrande. Feel free to use Haymaker as a means of buying teammates more time around tributes."

"Muradin’s Combat Trait, "Second Wind," can be instrumental in a long team fight around the shrines on Dragon Shire. Dish out your damage, walk away, allow Second Wind to activate, then dive back in for the killing blow."

Heroes of the Storm is currently in closed alpha, but an open beta is set to debut later in the year for the PC platform, according to Blizzard.
