14 DAY TRIAL // Blizzard is continuing to share more details about the Heroes of the Storm closed beta that's currently rolling out across the game's servers all over the world, this time talking about the Sky Temple battleground that adds an Egyptian theme to the fantasy multiplayer game.
Heroes of the Storm spent a lot of time in 2014 under a closed technical alpha stage, with Blizzard allowing only a few fans to try out the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) and then share their feedback with the studio.
For 2015, the studio is rolling out a closed beta for Heroes of the Storm right now, which should provide an enhanced experience to all those who can participate in the test stage.
Sky Temple is coming to Heroes of the Storm
While the beta is rolling out across the game's different regions, the studio shares on its website a few new details about the latest battleground that's coming alongside the new version of the title. The map is called Sky Temple and features the classic three-lane design seen in the levels of many other MOBAs nowadays.
As you can see in the screenshots below, the new Sky Temple has a distinct Egyptian theme and can be played across all game modes, including the new Hero League competitive one. There are temples at the center of each lane that will activate after 90 seconds. They can be captured and then used to fire powerful beams of energy at enemy structures.
Temples must be defended against neutrals and enemies
However, once a temple is captured, they will spawn guardians around it that try to eliminate the players. As such, you also have to defeat them, as well as your enemies in order to maintain control of the temple.
One, two, or three temples can activate at any given time, so it's going to be a rush to see who can take over them and maintain that control for as long as possible, or least until their ammunition is depleted.
Considering that Heroes of the Storm already has quite a few drastically different battlegrounds, Sky Temple should blend right in and offer even more variety to players.
