Blizzard has issued a new warning to those who want to enter the Heroes of the Storm alpha stage, as it doesn't want them to fall prey to phishing attempts promising keys to enter the test phase.

Heroes of the Storm was revealed to the world last year and has recently entered a closed technical alpha stage.

Blizzard has confirmed that it's inviting new users who have manifested their interest in the MOBA experience each week, but it has issued a warning on its website.

According to the studio, entry into the Heroes of the Storm alpha stage is done only via Battle.net, meaning there are no keys or invitations. Instead, users will just find that their account now features a section for the new game.

As such, they shouldn't fall prey to phishing attempts or scams offered by nefarious individuals who claim to have alpha keys or invitations for Heroes of the Storm.

Blizzard fans have had a long and troubled relationship with scammers, as many seek access to legitimate accounts in order to exploit the games owned by those people, from World of Warcraft, to Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, or even Hearthstone more recently.

As of yet, Blizzard has no date for a potential open beta stage for Heroes of the Storm.
