14 DAY TRIAL // It looks like Blizzard and well-known toy manufacturer NECA are looking to release a series of action figures based on Heroes of the Storm, the popular free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena.
Blizzard owns some of the most popular characters in gaming, thanks to the brilliant universes it has crafted for its award-winning video games, Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo.
Heroes of the Storm is a sort of all-star game that features iconic characters from all Blizzard properties, battling their ways through a handful of maps, in Blizzard's own take on the MOBA genre.
Since Heroes of the Storm is sort of a Blizzard fanboy's dream, the company decided that it could make even more money by having a line of action figures created, and NECA is planning on doing all 34 heroes currently available.
The line of toys will be much more consumer friendly, being created for the masses, as a regular collector line, debuting this weekend at Toy Fair 2015 in New York, as Kotaku reports.
The plan is to make figures for each and every one of the playable characters in Heroes of the Storm, and even add some of the popular skins and some surprise variants in the mix.
The first wave is already on its way
The first wave of figures will consist of Arthas in Lich King regalia, Illidan Stormrage before growing horns and wings, Nova from Starcraft, and Tyrael from Diablo, in angel form. In addition to this, a deluxe version of Stitches, the undead abomination, will also be part of the debut.
The figures will be released two at a time, with the first scheduled being Nova and Illidan, sometime during early summer 2015.
The models used for the characters will be the ones featured in Heroes of the Storm, and the action figures will be highly poseable, with functioning articulations, and a pleasing level of detail.
Blizzard also urged fans who want their favorite characters to see priority as far as launch dates are concerned to flood the Heroes of the Storm Twitter and Facebook page with requests.
