Ubisoft has announced that it’s moving the hosting of its online services to a new facility next week and that this will mean that certain games, including new ones like Might & Magic: Heroes VI, won’t be playable, not even in the single-player mode.

Ubisoft’s online service has always caused some serious problems for gamers, either due to its annoying nature or because of glitches that often meant players were locked out of their own titles.

Now, the French company has confirmed that some new issues will appear next month, due to the fact that it’s moving the online system to a new data center.

"Starting February 7, Ubisoft will be transitioning the hosting of many of its online services from a third-party data center to a new facility," the company said. "During the transition, some Ubisoft services and online games will not be available.”

"We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience. This move ultimately will help us improve the maintenance of our infrastructure and deliver better uptime and greatly improved services for our customers."

Among the games affected by this move are Might & Magic: Heroes VI, HAWX 2 or The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom on the PC. Titles like Assassin’s Creed 1, Splinter Cell: Conviction or The Settlers on the Mac platform are also going offline.

These titles will be completely unplayable, as players won’t even be able to access their single-player modes, because of its reliance on Ubisoft’s online system.

Uplay, the company’s special service, will be completely offline, but players will still be able to experience titles like Assassin’s Creed: Revelations or Driver: San Francisco during this server change. However, they won’t be able to register new games on their uPlay accounts.

There’s no word when Ubisoft will complete this migration, so you might want to spend as much time as possible with the affected games before February 7 arrives. Expect news once the company gets things back to normal.
