14 DAY TRIAL // Faith in humanity has been (temporarily) restored. Meet the latest Internet star, a hero cop from La Porte, who literally shut down the highway to save a limping, trembling, wet pooch that had run away from home.
The photo above has gone viral and, considering the officer’s nice gesture, it’s no wonder it did.
“He’s not going to make it if I don’t do something,” says Kyle Jones, the officer, says of what went through his mind when he saw Cujo, the dog, limping from lane to lane on the highway.
“When I saw it and saw the size of it, I immediately hit my lights and shut all the lanes off,” he adds.
As the photo shows, Jones did indeed block traffic with his car.
He then went to the dog, picked him up and brought him back to his owners, who had spent the entire day looking for him in the neighborhood, fearing the worse.
